Enhancing grid resilience and fortifying Miami-Dade County's electrical infrastructure with the Alton-Venetian 69kV Underground Transmission Line.

Strengthening Miami Beach's Grid Resilience

Nearly two miles of transmission ductbank installed under Miami Beach, FL.

The Alton to Venetian Transmission Project consisted of nearly two miles of 69kV transmission circuits employing various underground construction methods such as two HDDs, open cut, and thermally encased concrete ductbank. A dewatering scope was also implemented, which utilized wellpoint and drainage wells throughout the open-cut section. In addition to enhancing the city's electrical infrastructure, the initiative included road restoration efforts at the state, county, and city levels.

  • Two HDDs totaling 82,962 feet of HDPE conduit.
  • 2,000 feet of concrete encased ductbank.
  • Six transmission duct vaults.
  • Six 24-inch drainage wells to 125-foot depth.
