In March 2023, Eugene Johnson joined Laney as Director of HSEQ. For the last 10 years, he served as the Safety Director and Vice President of Safety in the construction industry where he developed and oversaw every aspect of corporate safety programs. Bringing an additional two decades of healthcare industry experience, including multiple facilities, personnel administration, and management positions, Eugene’s experience has made him an expert voice in the health and safety field.
 
Eugene is a prominent contributor to the Texas construction industry as an active member of the Associated General Contractors Safety/ Emergency Management Team Committee, the Associated Builders Contractors Safety Committee, and the Associated Builders Contractors Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He has participated in influential planning and implementation of a wide range of safety policies throughout Houston.
 
Eugene was a nominee for the Ray Lambright Excellence in Safety Award in 2016. An Authorized OSHA Safety Outreach Instructor who teaches public and private classes, he has multiple degrees in Healthcare and Business Administration and obtained his MBA in February 2023. He also holds a Doctorate in Ministry.
